The ninth annual competition will be held May 28-30, 2015 at the Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS) near Hanksville, Utah in the United States. The record-setting 2014 event featured 31 teams from six countries, and 2015 is expected to be even bigger!
The updated rules for the 2015 University Rover Challenge (URC2015) were recently released, and feature a new competitive downselection process. Competitors will go through a Team Proposal process, as well as a Critical Design Review. Only those teams and rovers that make it through these stages will make it to the field competition at MDRS.
Teams must complete the registration process to declare their intent to compete no later than December 5, 2014. Details can be found on the URC Team Information page: http://urc.marssociety.org/home/team-info.
