The tenth annual competition will be held June 2-4, 2016 at the Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS) near Hanksville, Utah in the United States. This follows the record setting 2015 event, which featured 44 teams vying to prove that their rovers were the best in the world!
The updated rules for the 2016 University Rover Challenge (URC2016) were recently released, and introduce exciting new levels of competition. Teams that progress through the Critical Design Review will be invited to the field competition at MDRS, which features a Semi-Finals round of competition before teams take on the Finals.
For 2016 URC also welcomes back Protocase as a sponsor. The custom manufacturer will again be supporting teams registered in the competition. Details will be announced soon to help teams take advantage of this incredible opportunity.
Teams must complete the URC registration process to declare their intent to compete no later than December 4, 2015. Details can be found on the URC Team Information page: http://urc.marssociety.org/home/team-info.
