URC2018 Schedule

*Note: Teams must check in on Wednesday, May 30.  Teams are also required to have at least one driver participate in a driving tour of the route to MDRS.  This will be a guided caravan for teams to learn the route, which can be challenging.

Wednesday, May 30
3:30pm - 5:00pm Check-in Period, Emergency Services Building, Hanksville (pinned on the URC map)
Teams are required to send at least 1 representative and 1 driver; although additional team members are welcome to attend.
We will be giving an overview/safety briefing which team representatives are responsible for communicating to any team members not in attendance.  Those briefings will begin at 3:45pm, 4:30pm, and 5:00pm.
At the conclusion of each briefing, a URC representative will lead a driving tour of the route to MDRS.  Each team is required to send at least 1 driver on this tour for route familiarization.
5:00pm - 8:00pm URC Meet and Greet Hosted by Protocase, Emergency Services Building, Hanksville
6:30pm - 8:00pm URC Rover Rodeo, Arena Next to the Emergency Services Building, Hanksville
(Teams can begin setup and testing at 4:00pm)

5:00pm - 8:00pm URC Bar-B-Que and Awards Ceremony (this is a casual event)

Please note the following points regarding the competition schedule:
  • Pay careful attention to the 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz sub-bands allocated to your stations throughout the event (if your team is operating in those frequency bands).
  • The time range listed for the Autonomous Traversal Task is approximate, and will vary depending upon the number of stages teams reach.  There are 3 stages total for this task.
  • Please note that for the Sample Cache Task, your team has two time slots.  The first is for your rover's on-course time.  The second is for your team's laboratory analysis and field briefing to the judges.
  • There are 4 sites where your team will compete:
    • Hab Site - Located at MDRS
    • South Site - Located approximately 1 km south of MDRS
    • North Site - Located approximately 1 km north of MDRS
    • Hanksville Town Building - Located in Hanksville
